Geraldine (Hebermehl) Piascik, age 78, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2021. Geri was the beloved widow of William (Bill) Piascik and a loving mother and grandmother. Geri was born and raised in Bridgeport, CT. She lived most of her adult life in Fairfield, where she and Bill raised their two daughters. They then spent their retirement years living in Stratford.
Geri was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and Eugene Owen Hebermehl and her Aunt Ruth Mohs. She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Singleton (husband- Ian Singleton) of Stratford and Cory Bodiker (husband-Peter Bodiker) of Fairfield; and her most beloved grandson, William Bodiker. She is also survived by her brother, Owen Hebermehl, nephews, Matthew and Gunnar; and niece, Samantha; along with many lifelong friends.
Geri is a graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1960. She began her 44-year banking career, where she was known by most as “Geri from the bank”, from her start at Connecticut National Bank, to years at Valley Bank, UST, Lafayette, and finally TD Bank North, where she retired. Geri had a strong work ethic, which never faded. She was a devoted volunteer for the Barnum Festival for many years. She was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 1995.
Geri was strong, kind, independent, and loyal. She always put family first and believed in maintaining family traditions. She loved to laugh, dance, listen to music, and read. Geri was the person who selflessly helped others and never asked for help in return. She was a devoted and loving wife, mom, friend, and most recently, adoring Grammy to her William. The smile on her face and glow in her eyes will forever be cherished from her love for her grandson.
