Geraldine Kirkland, age 92, of Nicholls, Ga. passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017, at Shady Acres following an extended illness. Mrs. Kirkland was born on February 16 1925, in Douglas, Ga. to the late Warren Carter and Viola Kight Carter.
Survivors include: her two sons, Danny (Nancy) Kirkland of Nicholls, Ga. and Nicky (Ann) Kirkland of Douglas, Ga.; two daughters, Judy (Lavar) Whittington of Americus, Ga. and Cindy Lu (Albert Tanner, III) Tanner of Nicholls, Ga.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholls B. Kirkland, Sr.; son, Ricky Kirkland; several brothers and sisters.
