Geraldine Gaedke, age 82, of Algona passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center. Geraldine Ruth Gaedke, the daughter of Ralph and Agnes (Pfeffer) Witham, was born on November 12, 1936 in Algona, Iowa. She graduated from Mallard High School in 1955. On October 20, 1956 Geraldine was united in marriage with Daryl Gaedke in Estherville, Iowa. They moved to Algona in 1957. Gerri worked at Coast to Coast, Daylight Donuts, sold Avon and Stanley Home Products and farmed with Daryl. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and garden, watching the birds, decorating for the seasons, meeting people at Daylight Donuts, working on the farm with her family but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Gerri loved to attend all her grandchildren’s events and there was never a birthday she missed. Left to cherish Gerri’s memory are her children, Alan (Cindy) Gaedke of Algona and Linda (Jason) Henning of Carrboro, NC; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a sister, Linda (Tom) Lang of Clarks Grove, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daryl in 2018; daughter, Deb Gaedke in 2019; infant daughters, Jean and Joan; sister, Elisabeth Bjorklund; and brothers, David, Richard and Robert Witham.
