Geraldine Kay Deeringer was born August 27, 1952 in Columbus, Nebraska to Lois and Stephen Stephens.
She died peacefully in Black Hawk County, Iowa on September 24, 2013 at the age of 61.
She married David Deeringer on August 7, 1970 and from this union was born two sons, David, Jr. and Bill.
She lived in Nebraska until 1976, when she moved to Chariton with her family.
She loved attending her sons’ activities and attending auctions with her husband.
She lived a very active life and enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and painting ceramics.
She has been on dialysis since 2001.
In 2005 she moved to Grundy Center to be closer to her son David and his family.
Geraldine was preceded in death by husband, David; her parents, Lois and Stephen Stephens; brothers, Jack, Bobby and Rusty; sisters; Theresa and Phyllis; and nephew, Randy.
She is survived by her sons, David of Wellsburg, IA and Bill of Collinsville, IL; seven grandchildren; Brittanie, Tanner, Dakota, Kayleen, Gabriel, Braden, Lauraly, all of whom she loved very much; one sister, Cherryl and lots of nieces and nephews.
