GERALDINE M. BUSS, 78, a longtime resident of Deming passed away Thursday March 1, 2012 in the comfort of her home.
Geraldine was born August 4, 1933 in Cozad, Nebraska to Leo and Gladys May. She came to Deming with her husband in 1960 and locally began a career at the Deming Public Schools in the field of Special Education. Approximately 20 years later Geraldine became the Diagnostician for the Deming School District and held that position until her retirement in 1992.
She enjoyed genealogy and was the family historian having found many interesting facts about her family history. Geraldine was a proud member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution, was a member of the A.R.C. and a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dale H. Buss of Deming; daughters, Vicki Hofacket and her husband Mike of Deming, Lori Lynn Buss of Las Cruces; brother, Derald May and his wife Betty of Phoenix, AZ; brother in law Randy Buss and his wife Betty of Nebraska; 4 grandchildren, Leandra Stewart (William), Jarod Hofacket (Lani), Brandon Hofacket (Stephanie), Adriana Hofacket-Allen (Justin); and 9 great grandchildren, Charlie Hofacket, Wren Hofacket, Meredith Allen, Sam Hofacket, Brooklyn Allen, Jack Hofacket, Ender Hofacket, Aerona Stewart and Calum Stewart.
