Geraldine Burke, 92, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 surrounded by her loving family while in the care of St. Luke’s Hospice. She was the wife of the late Joseph P. Burke, who passed away in 1982.
Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Placido A. and Julia (Bene) Cantelmi and Isabella (Piermatteo) Cantelmi. She was a faithful member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Bethlehem. Gerry was an avid reader and enjoyed needlework, baking and most of all opening her home to family and friends.
SURVIVORS: She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Alice M. George and husband Howie of Allentown, Rita Sassaman of Milford, MA; sons Michael J. Burke and wife Suzanne of Allentown, David Burke and wife Leona of Bethlehem; grandchildren Michael and his wife Jen, Erik and his wife Margie, Lisa and her husband Eric, Paul and Joseph; great-grandchildren Alexa, Kaden, Malina, Sierra and Evelyn; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Louis and Dino Cantelmi; sister Isabel Collen; son-in-law Karl Sassaman; son-in-law James Makoul.
