Gerald W. McSwiggan (December 8, 1946 – August 22, 2021)
Gerald “Gerry” McSwiggan passed away in Miami, Florida on August 22. He was 74 years old.
Gerry never met a person he didn’t like. From his infectious laughter to his deep generosity, he was someone who everyone wanted to be around. He was the type of person who made a friend in fifth grade and stayed loyal to him for his entire life. Ever quick with a joke or a nickname that always seemed to stick, he surrounded himself with people and loved them with his whole heart.
In the final days of his life, his sister thanked him for being a great big brother. And that’s who he was – a great brother, husband, father, and friend.
Born in Philadelphia to Edward and Agnes McSwiggan, Gerry moved with his family to Miami in 1953 and worked in the family business after graduating from the University of Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Norma; his children, Gerald (Merrick) and Meagan (Zach); his grandchildren, Tatum, Quinn and Sawyer; his sister, Marilyn; his brother; four nieces; and a host of other family and friends.
