Hinkle, Gerald R. “Bob”
of Fountain Hills passed away on September 5, 2011, at the grand age of 88. Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, brother and uncle, he will be forever loved and missed by all. Born in Johnson Township, Clinton County, Indiana in 1922, Bob moved to Arizona with his family in 1932 and to Fountain Hills in 1998. A Navy veteran of WWII, he was always involved in some exciting endeavor usually with one kid or the other throughout his lifetime – midget racing, snow skiing , flying ultra lights, driving racing go-carts and motorcycles. A master sheet metal mechanic, he worked at Luke Air Force Base in the early days, and retired from Civil Engineering at Williams Air Force Base. Surviving are his brother, Fred Hinkle, children Dan Hinkle, Cheryl Romo and Roxanna Hollabaugh, and a plethora of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
