On September 3, 2018, Heaven received a True Angel, our Beloved Husband, Dad and Grandpa, Gerald Evain “Pete” Peterson, 83, of Idaho Falls. He passed away at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was taken home to be with our Heavenly Father and his family in Heaven.
He was born to Joseph Evain and Ruth Fogg Peterson on April 21, 1935, in Rexburg, Idaho. He is the oldest son of nine brothers, Roger, Bob, Larry, Brent, Kent, Ray, David (deceased) and Dean Peterson.
Gerald grew up in Rexburg, Idaho, attending schools in Rexburg and Sugar City, Idaho. He grew up in Rexburg on the family farm, working hard and milking cows. He also helped with the start up of the family business in Rexburg, Peterson Culligan Soft Water. He was also a truck driver in the western states.
Gerald met the love of his life, Marcia Ann Stewart, in Rexburg, Idaho. They were married on August 28, 1959, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary last week. Early in their marriage, Gerald and Marcia moved to Los Angeles where he learned the trade of carpet installation from his cousins. When they came back to Idaho Falls, he taught the carpet trade to his brothers and many are in that business today, as well as their sons.
