Gerald O. Luft Age 91 of Owosso passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at his home.Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the Luft Family Farm with Pastor Herb Wheelock officiating. Burial will follow at West Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the farm on Wednesday from 12noon to 1:00 pm.Gerald was born April 21, 1927 in Owosso, the son of Orville and Florence (Zukle) Luft.He married Mardell Patterson on July 31, 1948 in Owosso. They spent 70 beautiful years together.Gerald proudly served his country in the United States Navy.He worked at Victory Machine Co. as a Machinist and also spent his days working on the family farm. He loved farming and his “Big Red” pole barn. Gerald also enjoyed being outdoors, cutting and splitting wood, riding his lawn mower and making memories with his wife, their children and his family.Gerald is survived by his wife Mardell; daughter Linda Poullion; daughter-in-law Jean Luft; nine grandchildren Cindy (Greg) Albaugh, Melinda Poullion, Michelle Shiffman, Stephan Luft, Miles Luft, Bart (Amanda) Luft, Charles Luft, Radell (Justin) Kilgren and Adam Luft; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friend Dennis Sumbera and many other loving family and friends.He was predeceased by his sons Charles Luft and Paul Luft; great-grandson Christofer; his parents; brother Ronald and sister-in-law Joanne.Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
