Mr. Gerald Marlin Taylor, 75, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi..M.. Derek Starnes, and Dr. David Ard officiating..M..Mr. Taylor was born in 1946 to the late Earnest Harold and Lois Franklin Taylor. He served as a Specialist in the Army during the Vietnam War. After his service in the Army, Mr. Taylor went on to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a Mail Clerk. Mr. Taylor was known for his gentle and kind spirit. As a Deacon at Shiloh Baptist Church, you could find him at the front door of the church every Sunday morning, proudly greeting each person with a smile on his face. Mr. Taylor loved to watch Ole Miss baseball games, go fishing, and tend to his garden in his free time. He was a great cook and enjoyed eating good food, especially when he could share these meals with friends or family. Mr. Taylor is remembered as a fun-loving prankster, who always kept you on your toes and made you laugh. A family man at heart, Mr. Taylor never missed an opportunity to spend time with his loved ones. They were at the center of everything he did and his greatest joy in . Taylor is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Taylor of Oxford, MS; his daughter, Jennifer Ray and her husband, Jim of Tuscaloosa, AL; his son, Jeff Taylor and his wife, Kathleen of Oxford, MS; a sister, Susan Foster and her husband, Tommy of Oxford, MS; six grandchildren, Hannah Cullen and her husband, Aaron of Southaven, MS, Meagan Taylor and her fiancé, Walker of Oxford, MS, Corey Taylor of Oxford, MS and his fiancé, Savannah of Meridian, MS, Caroline Colburn and her husband, Jackson of Tuscaloosa, AL, Hayden Ray and his wife, Shelby of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Mason Ray of Tuscaloosa, AL; one great-grandson, Cooper Cullen; a great-granddaughter on the way, Millie Ray; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to these loved ones, Mr. Taylor also leaves behind his most faithful companion and dearest friend – his Australian Shepherd, Miss Ellie..
