Gerald M. Campbell, 88, formerly of Williamsport and Lewisburg, died January 1, 2012 at the Hearthside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, State College.
Born April 23, 1923 in Elysburg, he was a son of George Campbell, Sr. and Emma E. Campbell.
He was an employee at the Federal Bureau Penitentiary from 1959-1978 in Lewisburg. Gerald served in the Army Air Corp during World War II in the 8th Air Force Division. He was a member of the Winfield Baptist Church, the Williamsport Masonic Lodge, and loved fishing, hunting, and Penn State football.
He was preceded in death by his wife Freda in 2004 and brothers Eugene, Darwin, George, Jr., and Jack.
Surviving are son Jerry L. and wife Janet Campbell of DuBois; daughters Susan M. Lingle of Mifflinburg, and Debra E. Lancaster of Mifflinburg; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and sister Betty J. Burrows.
