Gerald LeRoy Eggleston a.k.a. Jerry passed away at home after a battle against cancer on March 27, 2009 at the age of 64. Jerry was a resident of Caldwell, ID.
Jerry was born on August 19, 1944 in Buhl, ID to Robert & Gloria Eggleston. Jerry has one sister, Charlene Whiteley of Nampa, and two brothers, Melvin Eggleston of Boise and Keith Eggleston of Buhl. Jerry was first married to Barbara Haylett and had two children, James Eggleston of Caldwell and Lori Eggleston Collins of Melba.
Jerry graduated from Buhl High School in 1963. During high school he worked for Thousand Spring Trout Farm. Jerry joined the US Air Force in 1963 and served four years as an airplane mechanic.
Jerry loved hunting, fishing and camping. He especially loved family reunion campouts. Jerry was a NASCAR fan as well. He was a Boy Scout and a member of Order of the Arrow as a teenager.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Carol Eggleston; daughter, Lori and husband Steve Collins; son, James (Jim) and wife April Eggleston; step-daughter, Amy Douglas; step-son, Brian Douglas; and granddaughter, Erica Collins; grandsons, Trent and Tyler Mateny; step-grandchildren, Michaela Douglas, Summer Douglas, Jenny Delmaro, Adam Douglas; parents Robert and Gloria Eggleston; brother, Melvin and wife Jan Eggleston; sister, Charlene and husband Gary Whiteley; brother, Keith and wife Kelli Eggleston; as well as lots of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family wants to thank the VA Hospital in Boise, Idaho, The Bone Marrow Transplant Unit in Seattle, WA & Legacy Hospice of Meridian.
