Gerald Lee “Jerry” Koth, 59, died Sunday, August 28, 2005, at St. Anthony Memorial Health Center, Michigan City, Indiana after a lengthy illness.

Gerald was born July 9, 1946, in Three Oaks, Michigan to Henry Koth and Phyllis (Gearhart) Koth. On December 5, 2002, he married Scarlett “Irene” (Rudd) in Manchester, Tennessee.

Gerald lived his entire life in this area, retiring from Gerwin Industries In Michigan City after 30 years of service. In his retirement, Gerald enjoyed tinkering with old automobiles, camping, and being with his grandchildren.

Gerald was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Aldene, Indiana. Gerald is survived by his wife Irene, children; Jeremy Koth, Michigan City, Indiana, and Stacy (Lane) Ahlberg, La Porte, Indiana; granddaughter Skyler; stepchildren, Charlotte Preston, Monterey, Indiana, April Botsford, Barnsville, Georgia, and Sammy (Michelle) Barnett, Barnsville.

Gerald had 31 step-grandchildren and three great-step-grandchildren.

Gerald was also survived by his brothers; Richard (Kathryn) Koth, Elkhart, Indiana; Randy Koth, New Buffalo, Michigan; Kenneth Koth, Channahon, Illinois, David Koth, Hillsboro, Tennessee; and sister, Karen (Richard) Shoemaker, New Buffalo, Michigan. Gerald also had many loving nieces and nephews.

Gerald was preceded in death by two step children; MaryEllen Pickens and Jesse James Barnett and stepson-in-law Larry Pickens
