Gerald Keith Eckert, 54, of Troy, IL. born September 1, 1952, in East St. Louis, IL. died Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Christian Northeast Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Eckert grew up and spent his early years in Morrisonville, Taylorville and then moved to Troy, IL. in 1969. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Troy,IL. He was a Real Estate Broker for Coldwell Brown Real Estate Company in Troy, IL. He was a avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and anything to do with the outdoors.
In Morrisonville, he was an emergency medical technician, a volunteer fireman, belonged to the Optimist Club, Kiwanis Club, Troy Chamber of Commerce, had his hand in farming, teacher of the Pom-Pom Squad and teacher of the Drill Team both in Morrisonville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Evelyn,nee Aumann Eckert. Surviving are his wife, Connie, nee Weerle,Eckert of Troy, IL. whom he married July 30, 1975 in Collinsville, IL.; his daughters, Robbie Joe Eckert of Palm Bay, FLa.,Jackie Christine Eckert of Fripp Island, S.C.,and Dana Janelle Eckert of Columbia, IL.; a granddaughter, Kaylee Abramovs; three brothers and two sisters, Everett (Louise) Eckert of Maryville, IL.,Roger Eckert of Kimmundy, IL.Delbert (Nancy) Eckert of Maryville, IL., Kathryn (Kenneth)Harms of Carrolton, IL.,and Linda (Jim) Bennett of Kenosha, Wis.
