Gerald Junior Hardesty, 86 of Thornton, WV formerly of Fellowsville, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Grafton City Hospital with his wife by his side. He was born June 28, 1929 in Fellowsville, son of the late Harold and Bessie Bolyard Hardesty. He served in the United States Air Force. Gerald was owned and operated, J & J Logging for many years. He was a Lifetime member of the VFW Memorial City Post #3081 in Grafton. He loved hunting, Nascar Racing, and being outdoors. He would only drive a Ford. Gerald was survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Janet Lee Jakeway Hardesty; one step-son, Robert “R.J. Powell Jr, Morgantown; one sister, Mary Wagner; two nephews, David and Dale Wagner; one niece, Teresa Kirkley all of North Carolina. In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by one brother, Wallace Hardesty.
