Gerald Joseph “Gery” Martin, 73, of Anderson, passed away on February 5, 2020, at the Community Hospital in Anderson. He was born on December 13, 1946, in Anderson, and he resided in Texas, Alaska, and spent many years in Anderson.
Gery graduated from Ball State University with both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. Gery worked as an Industrial Arts Technology Teacher for several schools, including Anderson Community Schools where he retired. He was a member of Sons of the Confederate Veterans, and various local and state pigeon associations. He enjoyed traveling, going out to dinner, and spending time with his family. Gery is survived by his son, Scott Alan Martin; sister, Loretta (Digger) Duncan; nephew, Daniel (Kasey) Martin; brothers, Danny and Mike Martin; and various other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marcia Kay Martin; parents, James C. and Mary L. Martin; sister, Alice Marie Martin; brothers James Jr. and Kenny.
