Gerald “Jerry” Berggren, 77, of Earlville, passed away on March 29, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Jerry was born May 21, 1944, in Sandwich to Russell and Mae (Jacobson) Berggren.
He worked as a farm machinery mechanic for over 50 years. Jerry was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. He married Patsy Battles on July 23, 1966, at Serena United Methodist Church. Jerry enjoyed working in his shop, camping, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He was survived by his son, Scott (Amy) Berggren of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Tyler (Becca) Berggren, Tara (Wes) Love, and Trace Berggren; three brothers, Truman Berggren of Serena, Gary (Deborah) Berggren of Streator, and Robert (Sue) Berggren of Serena; three sisters, Kathleen Berggren of Ottawa, Colleen Berggren of Serena, and Pauline Berggren of Serena; and two sisters-in-law, BJ Berggren, and Kathy Berggren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his siblings, James, Kenneth, Kate, and Terrance.
