Gerald W. “Gerry” Hahn, 67, of Springtown, died Saturday, August 20, 2011, at St. Lukes Hospital, Quakertown after a courageous battle with melanoma, having many family and friends by his side. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Kenneth G.W. Hahn and Dorothy A. (Weidner) Hahn. Gerry was a mechanic for the former Gutshall’s Chevrolet and Superior Automotive in Hellertown for many years. He was also a push truck operator and race driver at the former Nazareth Speedway. Gerry was an engine builder for his younger brother Dave’s 2H stock and sprint cars and numerous other race teams, graciously without charge. Gerry was a member of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Springtown and a graduate of Palisades High School. Surviving are brothers; Kenneth and wife, Marion Hahn of Emmaus; David and wife, Christine “Tina” Hahn of Green Lane, six nieces; one nephew; two great-nieces: two great nephews and his dog Holly. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brother Rodger, surviving wife, Alice, of Breinigsville, and brother Robert.
