Gerald G. Schleich, 80, of Freeport, died Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born January 13, 1924, in Freeport he was the son of George J. and Elizabeth (Kinsella) Schleich.
He married Helen A. Huesing on September 11, 1954, in Freeport. He worked at Micro Switch, Krafts, Freeport Motors, Fairbanks Morse, L.E. Peck Accounting, Lindgren Callihan Van Osdol & Company Ltd., and then Schleich Accounting Services. His memberships included St. Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3rd & 4th Degree, and Fraternal Order of Eagles. An avid bowler he also enjoyed bingo.
Surviving are his wife, Helen of Freeport; son, David (Cynthia) Schleich of Buffalo Grove; four daughters, Anita (Richard) Olsen of Estherville, Iowa, Patricia (Greg) Aaby and Rita Schleich both of Freeport; Mary (Robert) Pleticha of Elgin; three grandchildren, Amanda Schleich, Benjamin, and Kari Aaby; 1 brother, Karl (Beadie) Schleich of Freeport; one sister, Mary Beth (Joe) Clouser of Milton, Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews.His parents; 1 son, Gerald J. Schleich; 1 brother, LaVerne Schleich; preceded him in death.
