Gerald F. Smith, 86, Anderson, died May 18, 2009, at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana after a brief illness. He was born September 8, 1922, in Anderson, and was a lifelong resident.
A 1942 graduate of Markleville High School, he retired from the Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 35 years of service. He was a member of Markleville Masonic Lodge, Madison County Scottish Rite, Madison County Shrine Club, and the CB Club.
Survivors include his daughter, Cinda Wilcox of Anderson; son, Archie Smith of Anderson; sister, Alma York of Anderson; grandchildren, Jason Wilcox, Amber Wilcox, Ryan Wilcon, Shaun Parke; and Gary Smith; great-grandchildren, Kayley Wilcox, Caleb Wilcox; great great-granddaughter, Alexia Conn and nieces, Carolyn Rose, Milena Bennett, and Claudia Fink, all of Anderson, Raydeana Baty of SC and Geraldeena McClerkin of Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Smith & Veva Rector Smith; wife of 36 years, Wilma Charles Smith; sister, Wilma Baty and son-in-law, Brad Wilcox.
