Gerald Frank “Jerry” Miner, 79, of Boise, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at a Meridian hospital. Jerry was born on May 18, 1934 in Hoquiam, Washington to Donald and Marjorie (Keel) Miner.
Jerry served as a United States Marine from 1953 to 1956 during the Korean War. He married JoAnn Hunsinger in 1957, and they had two children out of this union. This marriage later ended.
On September 13, 1985 Jerry married Barbara “Bobbi” Keathley, and they made their home in Meridian, Idaho.
Jerry worked construction most of his life, and also did small engine repair for some time. He was always “Tinkering” with everything and anything he could get his hands on, from dusk to dawn. Jerry and Bobbi also loved to take their Jackpot trips.
Jerry is survived by his two children, Jeff Miner of Seattle, WA, and Vicki Ohge of Boise; six step sons, Darrell (Rhonda) of Belfry, KY, Ricky (Debi) of Danville, KY, Clarence (Gloria) of Meridian, ID, Terry (Eula Jo) of Prestonsburg, KY, Billy (Carol) of Belfry, KY, and Scott (Janice) of Boise, ID; three brothers, Dale (Loretta) McMinn of Wendell, ID, Kenneth (Jeannie) McMinn of Arlington, WA, and Melvin (Dora) McMinn of Orofino, ID; 21 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Barbara “Bobbi” Miner on February 25, 2012.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Vibra Hospital for caring for Jerry in his final week of life, and to Spring Creek Assisted Living for their care of Jerry since 2010.
