“Huck” Gerald Dee Hulsey passed away peacefully on November 12, 2018.  Huck was surrounded by his wife of 56 years, Karen, and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Huck was preceded in death by his father Claud Hulsey, his mother Sara Mae Wilson Hulsey and his brothers John Doyle “Dink” (Johnnie), James Quannah “Buck” (LaRue) and Jerry Wayne (Joyce).

Dad is survived by his wife Karen L. (Miller) Hulsey.  They gave birth to four children and raised six;  Richard Lynn (Kyra) and his children Andy and Crystal; Kevin Lee (Endi) and his children Dominic and Micaela; Gary Dale (Polly) their children Katelynn and Brock; Raylene Ladette (Lucas)and her children Austin and Ashlynn; Brittney Leigh (Zach) and their children Aunicca and Zachary; and Bradley Ray Parker and his son Braiden.  Huck also loved the mothers and fathers of his grandchildren Anita and Leslie and Dennis.

Dad led an incredibly full and fun life.  From the watermelon farms of Texas to the classrooms of Bell Helicopter and everything in between.

Dad took us from Texas to Louisiana to Arizona to Alaska to Arkansas before Mom took the reigns and we settled in Idaho.  Mom and the kids enjoyed a stable home in Idaho while Dad continued to work all around the western United States always with a terrific obligation to provide for his family.  We love him for that.   Dad always worked in aviation, mostly with helicopters.

Dad received a degree in architecture from the College of Southern Idaho.

Dad loved music.  A very eclectic love of music.  He was happy listening to gospel hymns, old western and pop music.   Dad even started learning to play the banjo in his 70’s.

We remember him for his loving spirit his southern drawl and quick laugh.   We remember his generosity and caring.  We remember the impact he had on the lives of all who knew him.
