Gerald D. “Jerry” Clarke, 71, of Galesburg, died on Thursday, November 22, 2018, at 12:12 PM at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Jerry was born on July 17, 1947, in Galesburg. He was the son of Oliver Paschall and Mabel (Ewing) Clarke, Jr. He married Anita Rodriguez on February 14, 2004.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Anita; two sons Arron (Amanda) Clarke of Altona and Bradley Clarke; step-son, William Rodriguez of Galesburg; two step-daughters, Heather (Elijah) Brazee and Ellen (Jason) Gadburry, both of Galesburg; two sisters, Candy Payton and Debbie Scherer, both of Galesburg; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Howard Mealman, and two brothers, Danny C. Clarke and Timothy Mealman.
Jerry worked as an electrician for Gates Rubber Company for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He loved to work with anything electrical, drink coffee and watch Wheel of Fortune, Perry Mason and western movies. He also loved to help people, even when he was too sick to do so. Jerry was a member of Winds of Mercy Ministry and had a deep love of our Lord. He enjoyed attending church, reading his bible and celebrating his faith. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be very missed by those that loved him.
