Anderson – Gerald C. Remington, 71, of Anderson, was called home to the arms of our heavenly father on May 28, 2002 at St. Johns Medical Center, Anderson Indiana after extended illness. He was born January 29, 1931 in Anderson, Indiana. He was a lifelong Anderson resident. He retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors in 1990 after 39 years of service.
He graduated from Anderson High School in 1950. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the UAW Local #662 and of the American Legion Post #127. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 50 years, Evelyn C. Remington; two daughters: Linda Remington of Anderson and Marsha & husband Robert Bloom of Woodstock , NY; a brother Kenneth Remington & special friend Carole Brake of Waynesboro, PA; Brother-in-law & special friend Robert Benefiel; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many other friends too numerous to mention.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of St. John’s Medical Center, especially 6 South floor and Continuing Care Unit as well as our many friends at Community Northview Care Center. He was preceded in death by his parents Orville & Grace McMillen Remington, a brother Norman Remington, a sister Kathleen Remington, a son John B. Remington and a sister-in-law & special friend Rozella H. Benefiel.
