Gerald Alex Raymond, 72, of Jacksonville, died Friday, June 12, 2015, at Passavant Area Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born on the 14th day of December in the year of our Lord 1942, in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Gerald O. and Idamaye Raymond. He lived the years of his youth in East Grand Forks, MN, where he met and married Sheryl A. Kramer. They had been married 52 ½ years and she was the love of his life.
He is survived by his wife; their son, Adrian David (wife Betsy) Raymond, and four granddaughters, Nevaeh, Makenzi, Kya, and Geri, all of Jacksonville; his younger sister, Margo (husband Steve) Arnesen, and his nephew, Christopher Arnesen, all of Warroad, MN. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Jon W. Raymond.
Gerry loved the outdoors: working at their country home and fishing and hunting. He was an avid reader, especially on the subjects of the Civil War and World War II. He and Sheryl are charter members of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where he served his Lord through many different offices. He was also a member of the Jacksonville Rotary Club for many years.
