Gerald G. Albert, 79
Okeechobee – Gerald G. Albert died October 29, 2021. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin May 12, 1942. He graduated from Custer High School in 1960. He joined the United States Air Force and set records for weightlifting in England and Germany. While in England he met the love of his life, Mary Harley. He married her and brought her back to the United States.
While living in Wisconsin Jerry worked for AT&T; after almost freezing to death in 1979, he decided to move the family to Jupiter, Florida. They resided there until 2003, when he retired and moved to Sebring, Florida. He spent the last years of his life with his son and family in Okeechobee, Florida.
Mr. Albert is survived by his son, Brian Albert (Karen), of Okeechobee; grandchildren, Ryan Bowes, Francis Rodgers, Wilma Rodgers, Brian Rodgers, Irwin Rodgers, of Scotland, Kyndra Albert and Jake Albert, of Okeechobee; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol Knudtson and Peggy McAllastar; uncle, Russell Albert; and many cousins.
