Gerald Adwin Dupre, Sr., died peacefully at home, at the age of 86, on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born December 3, 1928 in New Orleans, LA to the union of Samuel and Esther Dupre. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 63 years Barbara Burkhardt Dupre, his son Gerald Dupre, Jr. (Keith) of Atlanta, Georgia; sister Eola Bates (Charles) of Elk Grove California; sister-in-law Selina Dupre of New Orleans, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives including Carolyn Alexander, Jimez Alexander and Jonathan Bailey. He is preceded in death by his youngest son Marcus Dupre, mother-in-law Myrtle Burkhardt; brothers Nolan and George Dupre, sister Ocean Brown. He is now reunited with his beloved heavenly family. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Notre Dame Hospice for their loving care and support.
