Georgina Standfield (GiGi)

Rockledge, Florida

Georgina Stanfield, 93, died peacefully Thursday, June 22, 2017. She was born in Grimsby, England to parents Ernest Eley and Amelia Frances Stephenson. As a young lady, she felt called to aide her country during WWII; by working in the ammunition factories and braiding trawl nets. Afterwards, she enjoyed traveling with her physical culture club. In 1957 she wed James Stanfield and in 1958 they welcomed their daughter, Kim Amelia, to the world.

Georgina moved to the United States in 1963. In Vicksburg, MS she was an active part of the community as an actress for the Vicksburg Theatre Guild. She was most notably known for her role as “Old Kate” in “Gold in the Hills”. A part she herself defined over her 40 years performing for the Guild.

She moved to Florida in 2005 to be closer to her daughter, Kim.

Georgina is survived by her daughter, Kim Gabriel, and her husband, Scott; step-son Milton Stanfield, grandchildren Gina, Ashley, and Tara; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, sisters (Eugenie and Florence), and former husband.

The family would like to thank Palm Cottages of Rockledge, FL for providing GiGi a loving home environment for the last 3 years and Health First Hospice for care during her final days.
