Georgia Lee Alter, age 85, passed away February 27, 2016 of natural causes in Meridian, Idaho.
She met her husband Lewis in the fall of 1955 and knew he would be the love of her life. They married the following September in Boise. This upcoming September would have been their 60th wedding anniversary. She was so proud of this upcoming milestone.
Georgia and Lewis had two children, Lew Jr, born in 1959, and Deb, born in 1962, and their family was complete.
She worked for various companies over the years, including for Morley Nelson, Equitable Life Insurance Company, Albertsons, and retired with Seven Up Bottling Company.
Georgia and Lewis joined the Owyhee Motorcycle Club in 1970 and spent many years there developing lifelong friendships. She was named “Woman of the Year” many times and ultimately “Woman of the Century” by her friends at OMC. You all meant so much to her.
In the early 80’s her mother Lila and stepfather Al moved in with them from Tacoma. She loved being so close to her mother after all the years of living in different states. She was a natural care giver and seemed to always be taking care of someone, whether it be parents, children, grandchildren or a friend in need.
After retirement they moved to Meridian and began a new chapter in their lives. They took many trips in their motor home with their good friends Vern and Cynthia Guyer, and their grandson Blake. She so cherished those times. She loved the Boise State Broncos and rarely missed watching a game on TV. She also enjoyed watching Tiger Woods play golf even though she never played a game of golf in her life.
She was humble, sweet, and always put everyone’s needs ahead of her own. She was lively, fun, and always had a smile on her pretty face. She loved God, her family, and her friends so very much.
Georgia is survived by her husband and life partner Lewis, son Lew Jr (Beth) grandchildren Brandon and Lindsay, great grandchildren Karson and Nyeema. Daughter Deb (Stabe) Hedges, grandson Blake (Elise) and great grandchildren Gabriel and Leila. Brother Clarence Card, sister in law Patricia Card, brother in law Lester Alter, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Howard Card, sisters in law Patricia Card and Evelyn Alter, nephew John Alter and father and mother in law, Lester and Della Alter.
