Georgia L. Buchheit (nee-Kirkpatrick), 66, of Annapolis, passed away at her residence on August 30, 2011. She was born on September 9, 1944 in Sunbury, PA, the first child of Robert G. and Madelyn F. (Adams) Kirkpatrick. The family moved to the Baltimore area in 1945 where they resided until 1956 when they moved to Glen Burnie, MD.
She graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1962 and worked at Friendship International Airport, now known as BWI, and at Hochschild-Kohn Department Store in the Harundale Mall. She married August W. Buchheit in 1965 and had two children, August Jr. and Kelly. In 1976, the family moved to Selinsgrove, PA during which time she worked at K-Mart in Shamokin Dam and Boscov’s Department Store in Selinsgrove.
In 1988, she returned to the Baltimore area where she lived until 2003 working at Maryland National Bank (now Nations Bank) and then later at Anne Arundel Gastroenterology Associates (AAGA). In 2003, she moved to Raleigh, NC and worked in the medical record department at REX Hospital. In 2004, she returned to AAGA where she worked in medical records until her passing.
“Georgie”, as she was known to her friends and family, enjoyed helping needy children through Compassion International (a Christian child advocacy ministry), traveling, and collecting miniature doll furniture. She also enjoyed reading (mysteries were a particular favorite) and solving crossword and logic puzzles.
