George Wilson Greer, Sr., 91, of Middletown, husband of the late Barbara (Seibold) Greer, passed away on Monday, October 20th after a brief illness. Born in Glendale, CA, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Wilson) Greer. Raised in Coventry, he graduated from Center School, Class of 1937, Windham High School, Class of 1941 and UCONN, Class of 1950. During the WWII, he served his country as a member of the 568th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion. After his honorable discharge, he joined the United States Air Force Reserve, retiring in 1968 with the rank of Major. George was the past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of the James A. Shea Post in Willimantic. He was a member of the PWA Campmates, the Connecticut Nutmeg Winnies and the Good Sam Club, all with whom he traveled extensively in his retirement years.
