George William Gleeson, 87, of Cumming, GA died on August 26, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Roswell, GA he was the son of the late John Clifford and Georgie Bowen Gleeson. George attended Georgia State University and the University of Georgia and was a Vocational Ag teacher in Conyers for many years. As a chemical engineer, he worked for Lockheed Research and Development in Marietta and at the nuclear facility in Dawsonville. For five of those years he was charged with research of hot cells. From 1972 1994, he owned and ran Gleeson Tractor Company. He is survived by his beloved wife, Myrtice Bass Gleeson of Cumming, GA; daughter, Deborah Gleeson (R. Allan) Rainey of Cumming, GA; son, George Edwin (Elaine Smith) Gleeson, Sr. of Cumming, GA; granddaughters, Melissa Leigh Rainey of Cumming, GA and Brie Rainey (Bryan) Briscoe of Lawrenceville, GA; grandsons, George Edwin (Holly Lowther) Gleeson, Jr. of Dawsonville, GA and William Paul (MaryBeth Bagley) Gleeson of Cumming, GA; great-grandsons, Charlie and Richard Briscoe of Lawrenceville, GA and Colton Gleeson of Dawsonville, GA; and sisters, Marion Gleeson Perry of Dawsonville, GA and Joyce Gleeson Anderson of Smyrna, GA.
