In his early years George grew up in Newark, NJ. He grew up with his parents and two brothers. When George turned 18 he decided to join the United States Airforce.
After joining the Airforce he was stationed in England in 1980. Here he met his wife Jane. After dating for 3 years they were married September 12th 1988. Leaving England in 1989 they went to Grisson AFB, IN where George was working as the PACCS flight chief. Following the closure of the base George and Jane moved back to the UK where George was a production superintendent. This was a demanding job that he excelled at for 3 years. In 1998 George was then stationed at Robins AFB, Georgia to work on JSTARTS. Here George served as the first radar surveillance and Comm/NAV flight chief and second Chief production superintendent in JSTARTS history.
After retirement George continued to work with JSTARS operational testing in Melbourne as a contractor with Cirrus Technology. Following AFOTECs closure in Melbourne George was hired by the 605th Test and Evaluation Squadron to conduct operational testing for Air Combat Command.
In 2002 George and Jane had triplets, Thomas, Emma, and Rachael. George enjoyed being a father and a husband to his family. Every day with them was a blessing from God.
He is survived by his wife Jane Welman and children Emma, Rachael and Thomas Welman, living here in Melbourne, FL., his mother, Lucjia and 2 brothers, Merak and Eric Welman
