Reverend Dr. George Wesley Rudisill of Matthews died Aug. 29, 2013. He was born July 3, 1921 to the late Silas G. and Carrie Rudisill of Lincolnton. He served in the Army during WWII until 1946, including landing on the beach of Normandy on D-day. He graduated from High Point College and Harvard University and received a PhD. (Hon) from Pfeiffer College.
Rev. Rudisill served the United Methodist Church as a minister, district superintendent, and director of Council of Ministries. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth Rudisill, son, Jeffrey (Nancy), daughter, Rebecca Haynes, grandsons, Jacob and Jason Haynes and many nieces and nephews.
