George W. Lay, 81, Anderson, died August 7, 2003 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana after an extended illness.
He was born January 5, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and resided in Anderson. He was originally a resident of Frankton prior to moving to Florida 30 years ago. He retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors. He served his country in the US Air Force during WWII. He was a past president of the Kiwannis Club in St. James City, Florida.
He is survived by his wife whom he married June 26, 1944, Norma J. Henderson Lay; son, Bill & wife Anny Lay of St. James City, Florida; grandchildren, Mike & wife Sharon Lay of Pennsylvania, Kristina & husband Lee Lorts of Texas and Dawn & husband Terry Miller of Florida; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
He was preceded by his parents, George Byron & Mable F. Spaulding Lay and sister, Mildred Shaw.
