George W. Burris, Jr.

George W. “Butch” Burris, Jr. of Redfield, Arkansas was born December 23, 1941 at Little Rock, the son of Katherine Smith Burris and the late George W. Burris, Sr. He was a member of Redfield United Methodist Church, sales manager for Wilson Equipment Company, past President and present Secretary of Redfield Sportmans Club, President and Secretary of Sportsmans Bass Club, Member of National B.A.S.S. Federation, Assistant Vice President of Administration and Public Relations for Arkansas State B.A.S.S. Federation Board, a Lakeside Country Club board member, a member of Arkansas Pulpwood Producers, member of the Arkansas Forestry Association, former Redfield City Alderman, State B.A.S.S. Tournament Champion, Director of Casting for Kids through B.A.S.S., worked with Log-A-Load for Kids, and was a special Deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.

Mr. Burris died Sunday at Arkansas Hospice at the age of 63.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ann Bates Burris of Redfield;Daughters and sons-in-law: Kathy and Greg Burl of North Little Rock, Becky and Bud Harrington of Redfield;Mother: Katherine Burris of Redfield;Brother: Marcus Burris of Redfield;Grandchildren: Eli and Kayla Harrington of Redfield.
