George Thomas Sheppard, 71, of Hepzibah passed away at his home surrounded by his family on September 13, 2013. He was born on May 15, 1942 in Pierce, WV; son of the late Clarence F. Sheppard and Marie K. Lipscomb Sheppard. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Rhonda Davis Sheppard; three sons Harold Sheppard wife Lisa of Hepzibah; George F. Sheppard and Fiance Rachel of Leesville, LA; Thomas Sheppard of Stonewood; three daughters Sarah Sheppard Harris and Companion JR Lohr of Stonewood; Barbara McKinney and husband Wayne of Snowbird; Madea Sheppard of Germany; step-son Jeffrey Kelley of Texas; step-daughter Misty Kelley and companion Tim of Clarksburg; 10 grandchildren Josette Myers of Leesville, LA; Crystal Blum and Fiance David Willis of Leesville, LA; Christopher Sheppard of Hepzibah; Joshua Flesher of Morgantown; Kelsey Flesher-Kesling of Stonewood; Thomas M. Sheppard of Clarksburg; Casey Sheppard and fiancé David Davis of Clarksburg; Helen McKinney and companion JD of Snowbird; Nicholas Coffman of Stonewood; Beverly Carrol and husband Dakota of Salem; 10 great-grandchildren Kyrstin Bailey; Alexia Myers; Evan Michael Bailey; Jaiden Blum; Brailen Willis; Halley Conley; Adriana Sheppard; Caleb Kesling; Carson Davis; Dakota Carrol and one brother Jim Sheppard and wife Carol of Florida. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Clarence Sheppard and one grandson Michael “Mikey” Sheppard. George was a United States Army Veteran. He spent his life as a sand blaster spending his time working for Basil Monuments in Mt. Clare and Riley Memorial in Bridgeport before starting his own business. He owned and operated Sheppard Monument for 20 years. He attended the House of Faith Church in Hepzibah.
