George Thomas Bolden was born October 26, 1963 to the late George and Katie Brandon Bolden in Morgan County Alabama.  He went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 7, 2013 in a tragic accident in Limestone County.

 

He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Union Grove P.B. Church under Pastor Boy Stone.

 

George attended the Decatur City Schools and graduated in 1982 from Decatur High School. After graduating from high school he attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.

 

He was self-employed, the owner of Bolden Brothers Repair Shop. He installed alarm systems and was known to be able to “fix anything”. Thomas was a boxer. His career began at the age of 13. He was a seven time Golden Glove Champion, a finalist in the U.S. Olympic tryouts in 1982, fought Evander Holyfield in 1983 and “Butter Bean” at Point Mallard in 1992-93. He had a joyful and kind personality.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Emma Brandon and Jo Bolden.

 

Thomas leaves to cherish his memory: a wife, Allison Moore Bolden, Decatur; children, Jabari and Bakari Elliott, Huntsville, Christopher Bolden, Brittney Bolden-Nance (Ronnie), Cornelious Smith, George Thomas Bolden II, Thomas Grayson and Jordan Moore all of Decatur; siblings, Rena Lewis, Athens, Georgia Irvin (Michael), Dorothy Bolden, Ruth Flynn (Press), Schuylet Robinson and Rodger Bolden all of Decatur; and Mildred McAfee (Willie) of Hillsboro; brother-in-law, Randolph Lewis; two aunts, Josephine Smith, Decatur, and Artelia Bolden, Hillsboro; one uncle, Willie Davis (Rosalee), Geenbriar; eight grandchildren; special friends, Mike Elayan, Richard Lee, Frances Isbell, Linda Ryan, Tyler Burns and families, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
