Noblesville-George S. (Brownie) “Poppy” Brown, 96, passed away Wednesday evening, November 20, 2013, at the Riverview Hospital following a brief illness.  He was born on May 8, 1917 in Muncie, the son of Frank C. and Mary (Doerman) Brown.

George married the love of his life, Emma Jeanne (McGalliard) on September 26, 1938 in Richmond and she preceded him in death January 19, 1991.  Mr. Brown had proudly served the U.S. Army during World War II as a Technician Fifth Grade with the Anti-tank Company of the 108th Infantry.  Brownie had worked for the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Union #661 as a Pipe Fitter and Welder for 26 years prior to his retirement in 1979.

Survivors include, two daughters, Patricia Bell, Noblesville and Deborah Kinsey (husband Al), Elkhart; one son, Michael R. Brown, (wife-Teresa), Muncie; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.

Besides his wife of 53 years, Emma Jeanne, he is preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
