He was born on March 21, 1939 in Washington County, MD to the late Robert Alexander and Ida Susan Butler Siler.
He was employed by Crisplant in Frederick, MD as a Supervisor until his retirement in 2001. He was previously employed at Garden State in Williamsport, MD and Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown, MD.
George is survived by his wife June E. “Pat” Siler whom he married on August 9, 1959; daughter Sue Miller of Williamsport, MD; daughter Robin Gossard and her husband Dwayne of Hedgesville, WV; son George R. Siler, Jr. and his wife Pam of Williamsport, MD; son Joseph W. Siler and his wife Vicki of Williamsport, MD; grandchildren D.J. Hoch, Robbie Hoch, Cari Houser, Casey Mowl, Joseph Siler, Jr., Steve Siler, and Lisa Beard; 11 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; sister Anna Marie Barrett of Martinsburg, WV; brother Raymond Leroy Siler of Martinsburg, WV.
He was predeceased by a grandson Benjamin Burger, Jr.; granddaughter Jasmine Rafter; twin sisters Joan Pauline McCauley and Jean Lorraine McDonald; brother William Everett Siler.
