George W. Redmond, 76, of Taneytown died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore. Born April 1, 1937 in Harrisonville, Maryland, he was the son of the late Floyd and Ethel Dyson Redmond, Sr. He was the husband of Robin Williams Redmond of Taneytown.
George was the owner of S&R Trucking in Taneytown. He was also a lineman for several different electric utilities over the years. He enjoyed working on trucks and watching old western movies. He was a fan of the Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Orioles.
Surviving in addition to his wife are son, Tim Redmond, Sr. and wife Christina of Taneytown; daughter, Debbie Redmond and fiancé, Allen Mantooth, Sr., of Westminster; son, Steve Redmond, Sr. and fiancé, Jessica Gamber, of Littlestown, PA; step-daughter, Amy Barnes of Walkersville; and step-son, Jesse Haney and wife Paula of Hanover, PA; brother Sam Redmond of Odenton; grandchildren, Tim Redmond, Jr., Steve Redmond, Jr., Sarah, Michael, and Emily Redmond, Brandy and Destiny Barnes, Cheyenne and Sierra Mantooth, Allen Mantooth Jr., Tracey Voelkel, Ashley Thomas, Ty Watts, Shane Bell, Santo Gamber, and Danny Hamm; great-grandchildren, Quinn, Ava, Willa, and Liv Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Eleanor and Isabelle Poole, and brothers, Floyd Redmond, Jr., and Jim, John, Ed, and Albert Redmond.
