Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Schiner, a geohydrologist for the U.S. Government, moved to the Edgewater area 18 years ago from Meadville, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of American Legion Post 285 and the Elks Lodge, both in Edgewater. Mr. Schiner was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed watching TV and sailing.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Patricia; 1 son, Karl Schiner (Theresa); 1 daughter, Erin Hughes (Terry); 5 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
