George O. Dietrich, Jr., 76, Anderson, died July 24, 2003 at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born February 10, 1927 in Mulberry, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. He lived in this area for the last 12 years. He was a Teacher, Coach for Daleville, Steinsville and Cadiz and Principal for Orland and North Vermillion School Systems. He was also a Scout for the Cincinnati Reds Baseball Team. He was a 1945 graduate of West Lafayette High School.

He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1949 and his Masters Degree in 1956 from Ball State University.

He served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion and Alexandria Eagles. In the early 1950s, he formed a high school aged girl’s softball team that played in the summer.

He is survived by his Five Children: Twin Girls: Becky Dietrich of Muncie and Debbie & husband Steven Riga of Columbus. Darlene Dietrich of Muncie. Twin Boys: Shawn & wife Eve Dietrich of Florida and Vaughn & wife Georgianna Dietrich of Anderson. Two Sisters: Edith Goodnight of Rossville and Georgia Keller of Otterman. Three Granddaughters: Sarah Riga, Kristin Riga and Leah Dietrich. Several Nieces & Nephews.

He was preceded by his Parents: George O. Dietrich, Sr. & Olivia Parigan Dietrich. Two Brothers: Hank Dietrich and Charles Dietrich.
