George was born in Uniontown, Alabama Dec 23, 1948 to Rebecca Nunn and Eddie Evans. George was the 7th child of 8 children, a younger brother, Lee George passed shortly after birth. George was educated in the Perry City Alabama Public School system. George was a resident of Uniontown, Alabama until 1966.
George was a kind soul who would leave others with encouraging and thoughtfully uplifting words after every conversation.
George Mayo leaves to mourn three sons: Kevin Mayo who resides in Greenwood, Delaware, Jamal Mayo who resides in Chelsea, MA and George Mayo Jr who resides in Dorchester, MA. A step-son and daughter: Michael Davenda who resides in Pepperell, MA and Erika Davenda who resides in Chelsea, MA. Two brothers: James Mayo who resides in Dorchester, MA and Handy Mayo who resides in Mattapan, MA. Two sisters: Mary King who resides in Roxbury, MA and Martha Prichett who resides in Brandon, Florida. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
George’s passing will leave a void in our hearts and he will always be missed. We the family would like to thank all who helped during this journey and made it more bearable. Thank you.
