George Matthew Mason, 79, of Littlestown, PA, died Thursday evening, September 3, 2015 at his home. Born August 9, 1936 in Sharpsburg, MD, he was the son of the late William F. Mason and Lottie R. Line Mason. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rosalie Hockaday Mason.
George was a medic in the army. He then went to work as an LPN at Springfield Hospital. He retired from state service after 30 years in 1984. He also worked for Spivey Bus Service for 17 years and retired in 2001. He was a member of Taneytown Baptist Church. He enjoyed attending church, spending time with family, grandkids, playing games, camping, attending cookouts and eating strawberry pie. He also enjoyed working on his old tractors and mowing grass. George loved to talk to anybody and was an avid Yankees fan.
Besides his wife, he is survived by sons; Ronnie Wayne Mason, Gary Matthew Mason, Steven Mark Mason and wife Lorraine, Jeffrey Scott Mason and wife Tina, a sister Racheal Robles and brothers Milton Mason and Arthur Mason. Also survived by a grandson Gary Matthew Mason Jr. and wife Margie and great grandchildren, Blake, Peyton and Landon. He was predeceased by a brother Edgar Mason and a granddaughter Alexis Mason.
