George Mathavich, Jr., 89, of Anderson, lost his life after a lengthly illness on December 24, 2012. He was born in Chicago on August 31, 1923, and lived in San Pedro, California before moving to Anderson in the early 1950’s.
George is survived by his son, George Janet Mathavich III of Anderson, granddaughters, Sara Mathavich of Redondo Beach, CA, and Beth Mathavich of Anderson, brother, Pete Mathavich of LaPine, Oregon, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, George Mathavich Sr., sister, Geraldine Mathavich, and the love of his life, Donna Mathavich.
He owned Cabinets by George in Anderson for many years and built custom cabinets and furniture. He also built several homes in the Anderson area. His 2 favorite hobbies were fishing and woodworking; but most of all he enjoyed time with his family and friends.
