George Markley passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at home surrounded by his family at the age of 77.
George was born on June 21, 1944 in Valhalla, NY and eventually settled in Cortlandt Manor to raise a family with his loving wife of 56 years, Theresa (Turner) Markley.
They raised one son, Matthew Markley of Peekskill, NY, and two daughters, Mary (Markley) Rooney and Melissa Markley, both of Cortlandt Manor, NY.
During the years his children were growing up, George was active in both Boy and Girl Scouts.
George was an active congregant of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Cortlandt Manor, NY.
He was president of the Parish Council and in recent years, a Eucharistic Minister.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
