Mr. George Manuel Gehrels Madriz, age 84, of Sharpsburg, GA passed away Sunday, May 30, 2016, at Blue Willow Personal Care Home in Marietta, GA. Mr. Gehrels was born on February 14, 1932 in San Jose, Costa Rica to the late August Scherrer Gehrels and Carmen Maria Madriz Pinto.
He was a Civil Engineer that had graduated from GA Tech, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City, GA. He is preceded in death by his sister, Carmen Maria Vazquez. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Gehrels; children, George Philip Brown Gehrels, Patrick Gehrels, Angela Maria DeLoach, William Danny Gehrels, Kymberly Autrey, Lloyd Pratt, Rodney Pratt, and Tracy Pratt; sister, Jane Castro; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
