George L. (Junior) Weber, 76, of Independence passed away at his home on Monday, October 12, 2015. He was born February 8, 1939 in Independence, son of the late George L. Weber, Sr and Lillian Mae Braddock. Junior was a coal miner for 37 years and worked at several different coal mines. He spent most of his years working at Reliable Coal Mines in Reedsville and retired from Southern Ohio Coal Martinka #1 Mine in Fairmont. He attended Independence Mission Church. His passion was spending time with his dogs and taking them for rides in his trucks. Over his lifetime he adopted and loved many dogs. He loved sharing his stories of his years in the mines with strangers who then became his friends. He is survived by his five children, Ida (Richard) Nieman of Bruceton Mills, Randall and John Fekete of Morgantown, Rick of Independence, Sandy Weber of Independence and Shelia (Jeff) Knotts of Thornton. Eight grandchildren, Deanna (Chris) Pinnell of Kingwood, Joshua (Joni) Titchnell of Kingwood, Megan (Josh) Arthur of Salem, VA, Chad Wolfe and Erik Kolodziej of Pittsburgh, PA, Sara (Chris) Paschke of Uniontown, PA, Cody Nieman of Morgantown, Shelby Nieman and Miles Helmick of Morgantown and Skylar Nieman of Bruceton Mills, two great grandchildren and his special friend and caregiver, Rose Weber. He is also survived by two brothers, Harry and Gerald and one sister, Alberta Windhorst and many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Lenora Hartman Weber on Oct. 16, 2004 and two brothers, Charles and Archie.
